Haha, that's old school...I'm not even sure if a lot of a people will even remember his crazy E46 M3 build.

I'm sure you can build the hardware and engine to pull the power. But as you said, finding the tools to properly tune the DME is the hard part. I imagine buying the software and files/maps to tune this DME to be INCREDIBLY expensive.

$2000 for someone to tune the car is actually much better than I expected...That sounds like it would end up being the more affordable route.
