This same problem has been a nightmare for me. My car is in the dealer right now for a fourth try at correcting the same situation you are describing. So far they have changed the fuel pump, fuel rail sensor and a complete coil pack. Hope your mechanic is better at diagnosing this than my dealer is

Got the new sensor and run it for a couple of days. Everything seems to be working
