i test drove a dkg car last week and was not happy. i had the downshift issue on the autobahn while braking from 240 km/h to 180 km/h (far away from abs area)

much more annoying and also dangerous was the fact, that if you go close to the rev limiter e.g. in 2nd or 3rd gear and then change into next higher gear first of all the acceleration stops, then you have a lag and all of a sudden the system hammers in the next gear...i do not want to have this in wet conditions

i called bmw m to ask whether these problems will be solved with the next software update cause i ordered already a car with dkg...they recommended to wait one year... so i changed back to mt
