I doubt the DCT knob is connected directly to the drive train but I might be wrong, anyone else ever felt this?

My other idea was that I removed the integrated phone adapter and did not have the rubber cover in the armrest for a few days during which I dropped a chapstick into the void which might be rolling around causing some issues under the center console?
Probably this... Maybe it sounded like more of a rattle than a grind? I don't know, but I use mine from time to time to switch from using the paddles and it has never kicked, moved, or grinded.
