In NY a pink ticket is a criminal summons..a yellow ticket is traffic violation.
You have to go to criminal court for that.
Rookies on the street..they dont even have patrol cars..I have been going to NY for years and see them stopping people as they walk all the time..but have never heard of a pink ticket given for exhaust..
