I think I have everyone's answer. I recall reading an article about Estoril Blue II being reintroduced. BMW stated that it had to discontinue the color due to certain environmental composition issues and once reengineered and approved by the European environmental safety board they added the II. A pretty simple explanation and kind of interesting. I'm not 100% on this but it makes sense.

I saw an E39 M5 in the original Silverstone. Way more blue than SSII. SSII is what I'd order on the new M3/4.
