I have a 360, which I love and use as my DVD player in addition to playing games on it. It is fantastic when connected to the internet. Big caveat though, out of me and my two friends who got XBox 360s, both of theirs have died and needed to go back to Microsoft. And it wasn't infant mortaility, these were mature boxes.
I'm going to get the HD DVD player soon.
The 360 interfaces with your home computer via third party software (available from SourceForge.net) to play all your mp3s and view pictures and movies on the xbox.
Not to mention, the games incredible. Project Gotham racing has only one BMW and it is a right hand drive, M5.
