If you have the luxury of not driving or have an alternate vehicle for the rare bad stuff (snow & ice), Summer tires are okay - I've run both Vred Sessantas and PSSs through the last Winters here in Portland; but there are a few days I parked it and took my SUV with Winter tires on it. Have had a few dicey times getting home from work when the weather changed midday. I did find previously that PS2s will not deal with even 1/4" of snow.
