I asked the same question about the dot matrix via email to them and this was the answer I got. Hope this helps!

Along the dot matrix, before we install, we wet sand with a 600 grit. After installation we ask the customer to return in 2 weeks for a touch up service where we would then flatten out the air pocket and get the film to lay as flat as possible on the dot matrix. You can expect a 75% visual improvement. and thats about it.
