I agree with your post.
I feel the M3 has plenty of torque as a DD but the C63 AMG has insane power, which must make being pushed back in your seat in any gear at any time very fun.
When the new M3 arrives, assuming it is just as good a driver's car, I know I will love that additional torque.
As well as the much improved fuel economy.
Although the reliability of those turbo engines could be worse...
