True. From Oct 08 - Feb 09 BMW had a surplus of M's at the dealer lots so they offered incredibly low Money Factors on the leftover 08's but the residuals were pretty low too. I leased an 08 E90 M3 on Oct 31, 2008 for 42 months at a payment of only $680. The residual was only 50% so my buyout this Apr 30 is only $33472. Kind of incredible that people could get an M3 at that price in the first year of the re-design, and the only M3 model with a V8.

If lease rates for 2012 M3s dont improve before my lease end, I will probably just buy mine. After driving it for 3 1/2 years, nothing else will do. Plus, there were only 4 model years for the E90 M3. Ought to help with maintaining value through the years.
