True enough, but what I meant was the people didn't seem to bother him and the food places he went to were good (I suppose since he had a bit of a guide), he also ran a food stand in the streets which was cool...

China was like India now back in the 70s and 80s. But during the last 2 decades, China really picked up on it's city images to prepare itself for world events and visitors. Think about all the big shit that happened there recently: Olympic games, world Expo, Asian Olympics, they are now running for world cup and another olympic games.
Don't take my word for it tho, go to both and check it out yourself.
