I agree, the new cars are butt-ugly and sound like crap. I can't think of any V-6 that sounds good. If they wanged out to 20,000 rpm they'd sound good.
Indy cars for years now have basically been spec racers, so I'm already jaded, but the newest cars just look gahay-hay.
That said, anything going 200mph-plus is cool, but I grew up watching racing when there was variety, lots of different designs, engines, tires.
F1 still has most of the aspects I love about racing.
