There really isn't anywhere else nearby that you can safely and properly do it; too high of speeds and too many repetitions needed to do it properly (e.g., Pagid wants 90-50mph and then 110-50mph stops
)
The roads leading UP to the tracks are usually straight and empty enough that you could pull it off as well... but I find just progressively braking more and more during the first session on track is enough to bed them perfectly
And if you are using the Stoptech street performance pads on rotors that previously had OEM pads, they are likely fine as-is. Only time I really noticed needing to bed those pads in was on brand new rotors.
