dbarnes is right, it is only a DIY operation if you are able to unseat and re-seat the tire bead. The sensor is mounted underneath the tire.

When taking a sensor out and re-installing it, you should get a rebuild kit for the valve stem to ensure an air-tight seal. Rebuild kits are not expensive, generally about $5 each. We have them available for $4.50 each.
