I don't believe this is the first BMW with it. For some reason, I recall this stupid little device in the old 8 series. I would like to personally fly to Munich and bonk the engineer over the head who thought including the motorized seatbelt arm in the coupe was a good idea. These dumb things are bound to fail and will be thorns in owners sides for eternity.
