FWIW my tips have had no issues after nearly 5,000 miles, paint is still fine. Not that I would care if it started peeling, I think they look better without

hey I just experienced that today!
I was going at it pretty hard for a little bit on the freeway today, and when I took off to a crossstreet it was noticeably more "musical" and even more hollow/exotic sounding - so much more I was wondering for a while if it suddenly free'ed up or something! really cool!!
I also notice about twice as many people turn around to look when I drive down the street now, so it has to sound pretty good when driving by too I guess
