Since this thread has resurfaced, I did some more reading of posts and wanted to comment on a statement made by KGB7. The radar receivers DO NOT have to be "mounted in the open without blocking it." The installation manual actually states:
"RECEIVERS MUST BE INSTALLED HORIZONTALLY. DO NOT OBSTRUCT UNIT
FACE WITH METAL, CHROMEPLATED PLASTIC OR CARBON FIBER".
I have mine installed behind the bumper skin and mounted to the top of the carbon fiber bumper. I did use a dremel tool to enlarge one of the carbon fiber notches to get rid of some obstruction, but it is mounted behind the plastic bumper skin. The rear antenna is mounted under the passenger's-side taillight and the front is mounted under the driver's-side headlight. I included some pics for reference.
