I did it on my E46, I'm going to it on the M when it gets here. All you need is a hairdryer, some floss/fishing line, and a claybar.

1. Heat the badge, but not too hot so the paint doesn't get damaged
2. Use the floss/fishing line and push it down behind the badge until it comes off
3. After removing as much of the tape as possible, use the clay bar to remove any residue.

Took me about 20 min.
