Damage may have been too strong a word. All M engines are not the same, some burn more oil than others for example. One component of oil burn is determined by sealing of the piston rings in the first few hundred miles.
///MML-----THANKS FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE. THE TECH WAS GOING OVER SOME OF THE SAME POINTS AS YOU WERE IN TERMS OF HOW MUCH OIL IS BURNED. ANY SUGGESTION ON HOW I SHOULD DRIVE IT UNTIL I DO HIT 1200. THE TECH AT THE DEALER SAID TO PROBABLY BE A BIT MORE CONSERVATIVE UNTIL THEN. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
