while waiting for my AA short shifter to arrive, i test fitted the z4M short shifter (~USD$120) to get some sort of comparison for feel so that i can choose which i like best... (more impatience than anything else...) the install was relatively easy and done by shifting/moving the heat shield. didn't have to drop the exhaust.
on the whole, the notchiness of the stock shifter does not disappear with the z4M shifter. obviously the throws are shorter but nothing has been "smoothened" out. guess this is due to the fact the the z4M short shifter comprises of only the shifter shaft.
however, i am overall happier with the shorter throw distances (more "compact" shifts)...
i'll post any updates if i notice anything different, as well as when i fit the AA SSK.
