you'll want to find a place in Clear Lake if you are working off of El Camino. one of the nicer complexes that also offers garages is on Space Center Blvd, just north of NASA Rd. 1. A co-worker lives there. Welcome to Houston. I have lots of garages and enjoy wrench-a-thons.
BTW, South Houston is not a nice area. You are really moving to the Clear Lake area which is nice.
