Definitely go soft bristle. If metal, brass only. Otherwise the brush will damage the grill. The one the OP linked is stainless steel, which would damage most grills except maybe the uncoated, steel, rusty ones in the park.
I just heat my grill super hot after cooking, then when it cools it is easy to clean with soft tools.
