My 10 year old sits in the back of my 997 coupe quite happily. Plenty of room. Had my wife in there on the weekend as well. Tight but doable - but she's 5'2" and I wouldnt want anyone taller in there.
I've driven M3's, C63, IS-F, and bought the 911. The why is always a personal thing, and not always because one is necessarily better than another.
One thing that definitely swayed me away from the M3 is down here it is $40-50k MORE than a spec-for-spec IS-F. Now I would not buy an IS-F but that's a huge difference.
For the same money as a well-speced M3 I bought a 3000km old 2008 Carrera. Not everyone would do that and I have to say I still look at M3's when we pass in the street. But am I happy with the 911 - bloody oath!
