I bought the '09 because I wanted the latest and greatest gadgets...the new iDrive was a seller to me.
The 2008 is fine but now that the 2009 models are out, the 2008's are 1 year old as soon as you drive it off the lot. There goes $10K in depreciation. If for some reason you had to sell the '08 in two months, you'll owe more on the car than it's worth. You could still be making payments on the car after it's sold. At that point, you might consider taking a credit hit and defaulting on the loan....you'll save a bundle.
