Liquid cooling is fine and not really all that expensive (in relatively basic form) if you piece together your own kit and make sure to assemble it properly, use quality components, maintain it properly (not hard), and don't mix metals that don't get along with each other.
The thing about LC is that you have to do it right, or else you might as well have stuck to air. Air's not that bad in a lot of these cases nowadays if you've got the right HS.
