once you have the cables, it will plug into the back of the idrive and allow you to plug in 2 or 3 video inputs via rca cables, and you run the audio into the aux input on the idrive. once installed you can plug in a dvd player or I used an iphone 4s with video cables and was wable to watch netflix on the screen. With the cables that I cant seem to find it is plug n play.
