4.1 LSD in E46 was $1550 installed at European Motor Work in Arcadia. I had my until I sold my car, no prob at all.
3.62 for $2700 not including installation is quite steep indeed. If there is 4.1 or 4.15 for 6spd at around $1500+install, I would definitely do it.
