Well they're just for prototyping purposes, and the component(s) that are printed can't typically be "used" for anything other than such; most certainly not for the purpose of what the given invention was designed for.
But aside from the fact that they're expensive machinery, I don't see any reason why people wouldn't want such a thing. They're pretty cool after all.
