I think this is "normal" when you attach an image and try to preview it. Same thing happens to me.
The only time I've seen the image in a preview is when I use the image icon or "[img]" tags... but as an attachment, I get the blank screen during preview, however once I submit it, the attachments show up in the submitted posts.
So give it a try.
