The difference was primarily due to the location of the catalytic converters.
The US-spec cars had the cats in the headers, while the Euro-spec M3's had them in the section 1 mid-pipe. (less restrictive) |
All I remember clearly was that I bought the first-year, 1998 US-spec M-Roadster with 240, only to have next year's model show up with 333. Yes, I was pissed about that too.
