I'm also new to tracking and will be signing up with speed ventures either at Cali speedway or willow springs. I've got ps2's that are about 1/16" above the wear indicators In the rear and about 2/16" above in the fronts. I figured a first-time track day would be a good excuse/way to wear the current ones out so I can move to the fresh set for next track day. Does anyone advise this approach?? According to tirerack "As any autocrosser or racer who has tread rubber shaved off of his tires will tell you, low tread depth tires respond quicker."
