I believe vtec kicks in at around 12,000rpm on the "new civics" which is an addition to the civic lineup and is even faster than an si. I found this hard to believe since an si is one of the fastest cars on the road today. However while driving my Koenigsegg Agera R the other night I ran into a "new civic" down in Tijuana. Let me tell you that was fast. At first I had him by about a car length but then vtec kicked in and it and I almost cried. He took me by about 15 car lengths which I hear isnt actually that bad considering that this new vtec does in fact add horsepower (approximately 1700 WHP). I am currently on the phone with Koenigsegg and asking them if they can add some of this vtec into my Agera R. What was even more amazing was the car was silent, it had no traction issues, and this one didnt even have a spoiler (which adds about another 100 WHP)

Hope this helps. If anyone else can chime in on what is needed for me to beat this beast let me know.
