This is predictable....look at how the cars are regulated in Japan....only allowing full performance in a racetrack.....
Its a bummer for the owner.....but Nissan is a mid level car company...they are NOT a luxury brand....so they really don't care if they piss off a few customers......since they don't have alot of brand loyalty anyway....
