The problem appears to be that in the US Audi don't appear to offer a full range that competes with BMW line up.
316 vs A4 1.6
320 vs A4 1.8T
325 vs A4 2.0T
330 vs A4 3.2
335 vs S4
M3 vs RS4
Maybe looking at the full line up from each brand might help explain where each model is and which is should compete with.
