If the safety of the kid is the argument point, a used 328 would do the trick. If you're that worried, then get a full cage, race seat, HANS, 6 point harness and fire extinguisher. Not an M3.

Right, and this was kinda what I was arguing towards. Not necessarily saying an M3 is the right car for a teen driver, but a used 328 would most definitely be a better choice than a Honda Civic.
