I have the issue, if it can be called that, on the same incline every day on my way to work. Normal driving conditions, I keep it in D2. The scenario: I'm on a flat road surface and turning right at an intersection that inclines from left to right. The turning lane is a bit of a ramp-like lane. From a stop, I have no problems - car shifts to 1st and I proceed. When I'm making a rolling approach, the car will remain in 3rd and requires, what I feel, quite a bit of throttle to downshift. At this point I'm already in the lane with traffic approaching. I figured this was normal operation and I've yet to change driving modes to determine if D3+ provides any assistance with the downshifts. Pulling the paddle once isn't an issue either... just sayin.
