Unless they forgot to change the owners manual...mine says..."In cars with Comfort Access*, the remote control contains a replaceable battery, refer to page 35"
Page 35 states "The remote control for Comfort Access contains a battery that will need to be replaced from time to time." Then proceeds to show you how to do that.
3V battery inside...looks just like the ones I use for my garage door openers...handy.

Reminds me of the dispute I had at my dealership when the guy insisted I had run flats on the car
