He bought a used OEM exhaust to modify so that his car wouldn't be out of commission. Now that he's all set, I am hoping to get his stock exhaust modified.
If you're looking for sound, I don't see why you wouldn't give it a shot since it's extremely economical and if you don't like it, you can sell the modded exhaust when you replace it with the next thing you try.
