Even in Florida and Southern Calif mid-day sun dictates the top coming up. Spring and Fall probably best convertible weather, but I drive a car year round.
Ahhh, quit being a pussy... just kidding.

I have the top down almost every day as long as the temps are above ~45 and it's not raining, although I have kept the top down during light showers. Once or twice a year, just for shits and giggles, I will keep the top down during a snow storm. This really is a fun experience and I recommend everyone try it at least once.

I also keep a tube of SPF 50 sun block in the car.
