The SL is a great car, one of the few true mercedes cars out there 
I used to have the current bodystyle R230 2004 SL600 w/AMG Sport Package tuned by Renntech prior to the M3 and it was unbelievable 
Stock it was 493bhp 590lbft torque but chipped (TCU + ECU) it was pushing 625bhp and about 745lbft torque 
At the time the SL55AMG was present, but it didnt have the same panache and performance, luxury that the SL600 has with the V12 BiTurbo, it was silky smooth and handled amazingly. I had more hp then a stock SL65 or even a SLR  Something about V12s especially when they are fitted with turbos!
It was honestly one of the best roadsters I had ever owned, and infact I still drool over the SL whenever I see one.  |
I'm currently searching for a 2009 or 2010 SL63. I've got my guy over at Mercedes Oakville working hard to source the perfect one. I may be saying good bye to my M3.
