I was asking myself the same question. Even if you don't care about the touristic component, a 48hr turn and burn can net you $2,500 in savings easy.

I'm thinking (mostly guessing) the main reason are:
- dealers don't advertise it much because they make less $ on the sale
- a lot of Americans are intimidated by travel outside of the US and its nearby colonies (Canada, Cancun, Cabo) ;-)
