I have a carbon fiber wing (standard) on my Evo 8. Mitsubishi has had some issues with the plastic gloss coating wearing off of the wings. I left some bird poop on my wing for too long (maybe a week) and there is now a dull mark and a tiny pinhole in the CF coating on my wing where the poop was. Not that BMW would ever create a product of this quality...
but, "food for thought".... I'm not convinced coated CF is as durable as painted metal. Someone with a carbon fiber hood might chime in.....
