Mositure is not going to be good for the internals, no matter how corrosion resistant the material may be. Aside from that, you're putting hard water into it, and might end up with deposists that will remain inside the muffler as well. I don't think it's major damage (or even really significant), but I suppose there is a risk that it could be.
