I heard about the 1,200 mile service, but why is it not a good idea to track it during this period? Is there very strict break-in guidelines established by BMW for this car in particular? I see myself trying to break the car during the break-in period.

Does the ecu store data (like it does with a money shift on an 6MT) for the dealer to view?
