I wouldn't want to ride in the back of a buddy's "luxury" coupe. I'd drive myself or ride with somebody who had a seat with a door. From my perspective it's almost pointless to have seats back there unless you have a bunch of friends who's cars are so bad they'd rather ride in the back of yours or you want to stuff kids there on the rare occasion. If it was so rare, I'd consider cars with smaller back seats or just get a two seater and swap with the wife on the very rare occasion that I was taking the kids.
I'll be the first to admit that I just don't get the entire "coupe" market segment. Then again, I don't get SUV's either so there's a lot of stuff I don't get.
