^ These "not so cool" looking wheels are the wheels BMW offers in combination with snow tires, M double spoke style 270.
The standard 18" wheels are M double spoke style 260 and are the wheels shown on bmwusa. Only the finish of the wheels might be different (darker) in the flesh...
