Beginner or instructor, if you run on OEM brakes I still say stay away from clip less pads. My friend, a poster here, had one of his PF front pads disintegrate on track at VIR a month ago, fortunately without any collateral incident. I may be paranoid, but I don't trust a pad without a locating clip, in a caliper designed for it. Who knows how much extra stress the constant rattling is inducing, and it's a complication that I don't want to deal with, even if it's just in my head.
My Pagids have been absolutely flawless, I'll stick with them.
Beginners can be very hard on the brakes through misuse. I know from experience
