I know not the same but it sounds similar to a well known scam that dealers in the southwest like to pull. For a few hundred to grand in some cases, they tack on a dealer addon called "Desert Protection Package" which in simple terms is just a coating of armor all on the dash tires etc.. In fact 99% of all (higher priced makes are the worst here infact) car dealers here in nevada are outright crooks.
Hence why we purchase all our cars etc.. out of state.
