This is honestly the most depressing thread I've ever read on this forum. It goes without saying that I'm sorry for your loss.
For me personally I would not attempt to replace right away. That a family member is not something you just buy another of when the original passes away, you have to have time to make peace with the loss before moving on. But that's just my personal opinion and is what I have done in the past, going years in between.
That being sad, I'm going to go home and give my boy and extra long hug.
